If you have an interest in writing, writing articles for businesses or bloggers is definitely a great way to make money if you have few hours to spare at night, or over the weekend.


You'll get paid anywhere between $50 to upwards of $1000 per post/article you write - depending on your experience and the client.

If you'ld like to retain ownership of articles you write, start your own blog. You can make money blogging by allowing Ads on their blog, through affiliate marketing, and sponsorships.


You'll need to start your blog and build a decent audience before you can make money from it. So not a quick way to make money if your maternity leave has already started. But definitely a great thing to start if you are still months away or thinking long term.

You can create and sell e-courses for virtually anything, so long as you are really good at it.


Need inspiration? Go to Udemy and check out the courses taken by thousands of students.


The great thing about course creation is, you only need the initial effort to create the course, for example, you can dedicate 1-2 hrs every night or during nap time to put your course together. Once its done and it starts selling, you make money with little to no further effort.


It's a really flexible (eventually passive) source of income.

You can choose to write when you want.

You can also choose the type of content you want to write; whether blog posts, sales copy, newsletters, or client emails.

If you can handle emails, meeting scheduling, creating content, social media and general admin tasks, consider working as a Virtual assistant.


There are so many services you can offer as a virtual assistant. From general admin tasks, to more more specialist tasks like website design and email marketing. What you choose to offer will depend on your skills.

You'll most likely be spending a lot of time scrolling through social media reading about all things new baby. If you are social media savvy you could use some of this time to work as a social media manager.


You can manage social media accounts for individuals or businesses. You don't necessarily have to work on all platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, or TikTok), you can choose to focus on platforms you are most familiar with.


You will need to define a package offering e.g.

3 Instagram posts, one Tiktok video a day X 15 days = £150

Online coaching involves helping people overcome a challenge or achieve a goal. You can be a coach in any area you're experienced in i.e. parenting, career change, personal growth, productivity, weight loss, relationships, the list is endless.


You can always fit clients in around your schedule.
